The Comfort Of Chai

Although open to the public, this workshop was requested and designed for Herb Society, South Texas branch. Going over the ingredients of a traditional chai drink, the attendees learned about the Ayurvedic and natural benefits of each spice, the role of cow’s milk in Ayurveda and how the combination of all ingredients including the black tea leaves come to bring a balanced drink even suitable for the summer heat; whilst enjoying light bites that complemented the drinks. The guest received a preliminary talk on the art and science of Ayurveda, the seasonal and nature based essence of this ancient practice and got more familiar with the concept of Doshas (humors), as well as the energies of the elements and how each individual can use that knowledge to build their own unique masala chai blend and more.
